Open the Proofing tab and uncheck the Ignore words in UPPERCASE box. Deselect both Hide spelling errors in this document only and Hide grammar errors in this document only options. In any Word document, click File and then Options. Then, select your current document from the Exceptions for drop-down menu. Similarly, if your document text is English: USA, then under Preferences>Dictionary, first set the language to English: USA and then change the Spelling Dictionary to ‘Hunspell’. Choose Proofing from the sidebar on the left. Please ensure that you set the Spelling Dictionary to Hunspell after changing the Language in this dialog.įor example, if your document text is English:UK, then under Preferences>Dictionary, first set the language to English:UK and then change the Spelling Dictionary to ‘Hunspell’. While we’re working to fix the bug with the “Proximity” dictionary and make the fix available as quickly as we can, we recommend that you switch the Spelling Dictionary to “Hunspell” in the meanwhile to continue to spell check your documents as earlier. Disable the options Do not check spelling or grammar and Detect language automatically. In the next dialog box, select English or the language used in the text. Then click the language displayed in the status bar. If we set the Spelling Dictionary to “Hunspell”, the Check Spelling feature works without problems. Here’s how to fix the problem: First, select the entire text by pressing Ctrl + A. We have been able to identify the issue to be happening because of the Spelling Dictionary (under Preferences > Dictionary) set to “Proximity”. ![]() If you will right-click the mouse button over a misspelled word, then it will show you the correct suggestions. ![]() The misspelt word being checked by the spell-checker is displayed. Check Spelling and Grammar using Right Click. ![]() ![]() It has really helped to isolate the cause of this bug.
